Why Buckwheat hulls?
Buckwheat is hardy and sustainable, native to sparse and arid areas, without any need of chemicals or pesticides. Originating in China circa 2600BC, it is the world's highest elevation domesticate plant, cultivated in Yunnan on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau (or roof of the world), which has an average altitude of 4500m.
Buckwheat hulls are durable, non-allergenic, and resistant to damp. Because buckwheat doesn’t conduct or reflect heat as much as synthetic fills, it helps prevent sweating, and its cell-like structure enables easy flow through of air when compacted.
